The program is open to Greek and non-Greek graduate students from Universities,
Technological Educational Institutes, and Polytechnics in health-related disciplines
such as Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy, Dentistry,
Biotechnology, (Bio)informatics, Nursing, and other Life Sciences fields. Non-Biological
graduate applicants must demonstrate basic knowledge in Molecular Biology.
If your degree is not in a Life Sciences field, you must demonstrate a strong background
in Molecular Biology, either through previous coursework or research experience. You
may be asked to provide evidence of your knowledge during the interview process.
Not for the MSc program. However, accepted non-Greek students should ensure that
they fully comply with the required visa and documentation procedures prior to their
arrival in Greece. They can find further information in the International Student Support
Unit of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and the Study in Greece
page before applying (see the relevant links in the menu “Online Application” of the
MSc website).
As an Erasmus+ student, you will need to follow the specific application procedure for
Erasmus+ mobility at the MSc program. First, contact your home university's Erasmus+
office to confirm your eligibility and obtain the necessary documentation. Then, reach
out to the MSc program’s admissions office for detailed instructions on the specific
application process. Please note that our MSc program is competitive, and the number
of available places is limited. Therefore, admission is not guaranteed and will be subject
to a strict evaluation of the application.

No, Master's programs in Greece no longer require official recognition for degrees
earned outside of Greece.
Yes, if your degree is not yet completed, you can submit a Statement According to Law
1599/86 (Υπεύθυνη Δήλωση Ν. 1599/86), which states that your graduation is expected,
along with a detailed list of pending courses. You will need to provide the official Degree
or Certificate of Completion of Studies on the pre-registration day in September if
successfully accepted in the program.
The program evaluates candidates based on:
-Undergraduate grades, particularly in subjects related to the MSc courses
-Performance in your undergraduate dissertation thesis
-Relevant laboratory or research experience
- Background knowledge in Molecular & Cellular Biology
- Proficiency in the English language
- Reference letters
- A personal interview in English
Candidates will be notified by email approximately a week after the application
deadline. If selected for an interview, it typically takes place 2-3 weeks after the
application portal closes.
-In-person interviews are mandatory for candidates from the Greater Athens
Area (Attiki) or neighboring regions.
-Online interviews may be arranged for candidates from remote locations in
Greece or from other countries after specific evaluation of their requests.
Yes, the MSc in Molecular Biomedicine is taught entirely in English.
The program lasts 2 years (4 academic semesters) and consists of:
-1 st semester: Taught Courses
-2 nd semester: Lab Rotations
-3 rd -4 th semesters: MSc Research Internship, Project, and Dissertation Thesis
The tuition fee is €1,000 per academic semester, totaling €4,000 for the entire 2-year
(4-semester) program.
No, the MSc program is full-time (100%), and it is generally not possible to maintain a
daytime job while attending the program due to the intensive nature of the coursework,
the lab internships and other requirements.
Currently, the program does not offer specific financial aid or scholarships. However,
students may explore external funding options or scholarships available through their
home institutions or other organizations. Information on possible sources of funding is
provided in the menu “Financial Aid” of the MSc website.
