Dorothea MANETA (Class 2020-2022, 2nd year, Dr. Maria Tsoumakidou lab - BSRC "Alexander Fleming") was selected as one out of the 16 participants in the EMBL Course: "Genome engineering: CRISPR/Cas from cells to mice" that took place between 9 - 14 Oct 2022 at EMBL Heidelberg. During the course, she followed a series of theoretical lectures as well as practical sessions that enhanced her knowledge and interest in genome engineering with a focus on mouse embryo handling and transgenics.
To participate, Dorothea was also funded through EMBL, as she was the only MSc student having been accepted among all participants. Congratulations!
The course was co-organized by EMBL Heidelberg, EMBL Rome, the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research and ThermoFisher Scientific with the participation of leading experts in the field, from the EMBL sites, European and American research centers.
EMBL Courses and Events are organized throughout the year to promote advanced and innovative knowledge and contacts through face-to-face and virtual events to aspiring researchers.
